Once upon a time there was a Little Hiker. He liked nothing better than a summer break in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Every year, he would pack his hiking boots and explore every corner of the wonderful Glemmtal valley. And for relaxation, he would always turn to the Hotel Marten. It so happened one time that the Little Hiker slept so soundly and deeply in his comfortable bed that winter had already arrived before he woke up. A shiver ran down his spine – covered as it was in a white blanket of snow, he could hardly still recognise his beloved Hinterglemm. But the Little Hiker didn’t lose courage. He carefully put his boot-clad feet, one after the other, into the scrunching snow in front of the door of the hotel. All of a sudden, a Little Skier flitted towards him, skilfully turned and stopped in front of the Little Hiker and told him about how wonderful winter in Saalbach-Hinterglemm is. “There’s fun on the pistes and in the powder – a real ski circus, believe me!” he said, and off he went again, disappearing in no time down the snow-white slopes. From that day on, whenever he visits the Hotel Marten, the Little Hiker not only has his hiking boots in his bag but also brings with him his skis, having discovered just how fantastic skiing in winter here can be…
